Take Time to Create

When is the last time you took an hour to sketch, write, read, or make music?

The Gloam is a place to tap back into your creative side without competition or judgement or pressure to produce.

The Open songbook

Tuesdays 9:00-10:00 am

For ages 18+, a drop in hour of singing. Each Tuesday we will warm up and learn a piece in parts.

No experience necessary. There is no audition, performance or obligation. Just a chance to make some music and some friends.

Afterward, you are welcome to stay for Keeper’s Hours to sketch, write, read, work or just enjoy the room.

All are welcome. Pay what you can, suggested contribution $10 per session.

Keeper’s Hours

Tuesdays 10:00-11:30 am

An open time at The Gloam for adults who would like somewhere quiet and welcoming to spend the morning.

Bring a notebook, sketchbook, project, or nothing at all.

Drop in at any time and stay for as long as you like.

No RSVP required.

Acting The Song

Monday 7:30-9:30pm

By invitation only. Please contact Angela at info@thegloamnj.com for information.

An ongoing workshop for actors 17+ to hone their craft in between productions. Students may choose their own material, ask for suggestions, practice cuts for auditions, or just work on their focus and authenticity in a judgement-free zone.

This is an acting class conducted through song, not vocal instruction. Voice lessons are a separate offering.

Angela’s students have appeared on Broadway, in National Tours, attended top-tier musical theater college programs and performed in principal roles all over the country.

Classes operate on a drop-in basis. Students may choose to sing or just observe. $250 for 5 classes (only counted when the student is singing). Packages expire after three months.

Director’s Workshop

For emerging directors and theater-makers who want to develop a concept, analyze a script, communicate with actors, and lead rehearsals.

Participants move from research and text analysis to casting and rehearsal work with live actors.

The next session will be offered in January.
